The rest of this site argues for restraint. The lab is where the moving, stateful, more obviously modern work lives — React, canvas, motion — kept deliberately separate so neither has to apologise for the other.

Why it is a separate site
Two reasons, and the first one is practical. The lab has its own toolchain, its own address and its own deploy, and it is gated by four commands where this site is gated by one — the last of them launching a real browser. Folding it in here would put one repository under two build gates and one release cadence across both. It keeps its own so that neither has to wait for the other.
The second is that the two have opposite constraints and both are deliberate. This site ships no JavaScript outside its tools pages, and that restraint is itself a claim being made. A showcase of interaction work cannot honour that constraint and should not have to pretend to, so it lives somewhere the budget is different and the trade is stated rather than hidden.
